Appeal to Save Tyre's Heritage from the South Highway
The International Association and the British Committee to Save Tyre, extremely concerned by the planned route for the South Highway (region of Tyre).
Planned route to pass through an area where 26 archaeological sites have been counted!
Remind that the archaeological site of Tyre, gravely damaged in the war years by clandestine excavations and anarchic urbanism, has been inscribed on the World Heritage List since 1984.
We hope that the route of the highway completed up to the Litani River (Qasmiyé), 10 km at the North of Tyre, will be diverted in this region to save the archives of Mankind.
