18. Despite the difficulties that Lebanon is currently experiencing, the Council of Ministers decided at its meeting on 29 August 1984 to make available to the campaign 500,000 Lebanese pounds to launch the basic activities provided for in the plan of action in accordance with the recommendations of the working group.
19. Unesco for its part will encourage international co-operation with a view to mobilizing the funds and technical assistance needed to complete projects put in hand for the safeguarding of Tyre. In addition, together with the Lebanese Government, Unesco will solicit contributions from Member States, United Nations agencies, development funding institutions, non-governmental organizations and major private international corporations.
20. It will be possible to cost the campaign only on the basis of the inventorying methods proposed by the UNESCO/ICOMOS mission referred to in paragraph 5 above and once additional studies have been undertaken with a view to making a survey of the cultural property and estimating the cost of the safeguarding projects.
