15. In order to rally national and international support, UNESCO and the Lebanese Government will launch a promotional campaign. At the international level, UNESCO will, within the limits of the resources available to it, undertake activities for the campaign:
- Co-production with the Lebanese Government of a film (in Arabic, English and French) which will be widely distributed.
- Publication in English and French of a pamphlet on the cultural importance of Tyre, its architectural heritage, and the objectives of the campaign.
- Design and production of a full-colour poster.
- Consideration of the possibility of striking a special medal.
- Articles in Unesco's various publications
- Organization of a photographic exhibition at Unesco Headquarters, in co-operation with the Lebanese Government.
- Assistance with the organization of an exhibition of objets d'art under bilateral agreements between the Lebanese Government and other governments.
- Establishment, in close co-operation with the national authorities, and at their request, of a plan aimed at promoting international solidarity and mobilizing resources for the campaign. This plan could cover the following aspects:
Preparation of a list of some of the most urgent projects that could serve to launch the campaign, and detailed evaluation of their cost.
Identification of international and regional institutions that might play a leading role in promoting the campaign and mustering resources.
Devising of mechanisms and techniques for mobilizing national and international resources.
At the national level, the Lebanese Government will undertake the following activities:
- Informing the public about the campaign by means of the radio, television, newspapers and magazines.
- Organizing a travelling exhibition to demonstrate the historical and architectural interest of Tyre; this exhibition will visit educational and other establishments.
- Publishing an Arabic version of the Unesco pamphlet.
- Issuing a special stamp.
- Encouraging the setting up of new private committees in support of the campaign.
16. The Lebanese Government will undertake any other activity designed to promote the campaign.
17. A plan to promote international solidarity and to muster resources for the campaign will be drawn up subsequently.
